Megan Monroy

Born and raised in Southern California, Megan is a natural athlete - swimmer turned surfer turned traithlete. After a surf accident in 2006, she returned to swimming for rehabilitation and with encouragement from friends started triathlons only a few years later. In Megan’s first marathon in 2013 she qualified for the highly competitive Boston Marathon.

Megan began bike racing in 2011 and added a 10K swim race in the Red Sea to her accomplishments. This evolved naturally into triathlon events where she now has numerous first place finishes to her credit. Megan is now a professional triathlete and ranked in the top 1% of her age group in the HALF IRONMAN distance triathlons.

Megan uses her athletic talents to support fundraising for her Uncle who has Parkinson’s disease. In 2014 she participated in the Malibu International Distance Triathlon which raises money for Pediatric Cancer Research at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. She was joined by runner Laura Conley and by professional open water swimmer Lexie Kelly who together made up the 1st overall female relay team. The last triathlon Megan raced was dedicated to her Uncle in the Carpinteria Olympic Distance Triathlon and she took “first overall female.”
